Sustainability at Khazanah
As the sovereign wealth fund of Malaysia, we have a duty to create value beyond just monetary terms for the nation and its future generations. At Khazanah, we remain conscious of the impact of our investments on the broader society as well as the natural environment.
To ensure that our decisions and actions facilitate an equitable and responsible transition into adopting ESG practices, we anchor ourselves on the following principles:
Do Good
We aspire for positive outcomes and ensure our actions today produce results towards a
positive economic, social, and environmental change, for current and future generations.
Do Better
We aim to build on the status quo, by identifying
opportunities to create positive value through managing risks and preparing for the future.
Do No Harm
We manage and mitigate risks to ensure that our actions do not expose stakeholders to negative effects on the social fabric, the economy, or the environment.
Khazanah has always adopted the core principles of Sustainability into all our activities, from the early days of our operations, when we took on a more active shareholding mandate and focused on good Governance in our Investee companies as part of the GLC Transformation Programme launched in 2004.
We have invested in sustainability themed opportunities, both locally and abroad, that looked beyond financial value and aimed at positively impacting the environment and communities that they are operated in.
