Azmir Zain rejoined Khazanah in November 2025. He had previously served the organisation from 2011 to 2016, during which he oversaw its aviation portfolio. Following his earlier tenure at Khazanah, he was appointed Chief Operating Officer at the Malaysian Aviation Commission and later served as Senior Director of Investments at Ekuiti Nasional Berhad. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Law from the University of Oxford and a Master of Business Administration from INSEAD. He is also a member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants and a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales.
