Our Capacity Development Initiatives
Developing talent and capabilities is central to Khazanah’s role in supporting Malaysia’s long-term progress. We invest in initiatives that equip individuals and institutions with the skills, knowledge and exposure needed to contribute meaningfully to the economy.
Our programmes focus on different stages of development, from early-career talent to mid-career professionals, with an emphasis on practical experience, industry relevance and global exposure. These initiatives are designed to strengthen employability, enhance professional capabilities and build a pipeline of talent across key sectors.
Through these efforts, we contribute to a more capable and future-ready workforce, supporting Malaysia’s continued development in an evolving global environment.
K-Youth Development Programme (K-Youth)
Khazanah launched K-Youth in 2023 to address youth employability challenges and strengthen Malaysia’s talent pipeline, promoting inclusivity across the nation. The programme focuses on equipping young Malaysians with industry-relevant skills and meaningful work exposure, addressing structural gaps between education and employment. It operates through a multi-track model spanning skills acceleration, formative stage development and ecosystem strengthening, aligning training directly with labour market demand.
The programme offers three distinct tracks to cater to different growth paths:
Accelerate
A short-term, flexible programme that fast-tracks unemployed youth into industry-ready professionals.

Nurture
Nurture is a medium to long-term pathway aimed at preparing students for employment at an earlier stage. It provides exposure through training programme, industry engagements, internships and structured learning experiences that build both technical and professional skills. Participants gain early insights into workplace expectations and career pathways, supported by relevant certifications and networking opportunities. The programme works closely with learning institutions to ensure alignment with industry needs. This approach supports a smoother transition, from education to employment.

Optimise
Optimise focuses on strengthening institutional capabilities to improve overall graduate employability. It works with faculty members and career advisors to enhance curriculum relevance, industry alignment and job placement effectiveness. The programme supports upskilling and knowledge transfer to faculty members and career advisors enabling them to better prepare students for workforce demands. By improving the ecosystem around talent development, Optimise contributes to more sustainable and scalable employability outcomes. This complements the direct training provided under other K-Youth tracks.
