Tan Sri Dr. Mohd Irwan Serigar appointed to Khazanah Board of Directors

Khazanah Nasional Berhad (“Khazanah”) is pleased to announce the appointment of Tan Sri Dr. Mohd Irwan Serigar Abdullah to its Board of Directors. The appointment was made at the 75th meeting of Khazanah’s Board of Directors on 23 June 2015.

Tan Sri Dr. Mohd Irwan is currently Secretary General of Treasury, Ministry of Finance. His career in the civil service began in 1984 when he joined the Malaysian Administrative and Diplomatic Service as Assistant Director, Regional Economics Division in the Economic Planning Unit (“EPU”) of the Prime Minister’s Department. He served in various positions in EPU before joining the Ministry of Finance in 2003 as Principal Assistant Secretary, Economic and International Division. On 24 August 2012, he was appointed as Secretary General of Treasury.

Tan Sri Dr. Mohd Irwan serves on the Board of Directors of several key organisations including Petroliam Nasional Berhad (“Petronas”), Lembaga Tabung Haji, Mass Rapid Transit Corporation Sdn Bhd (“MRT Corp”), and Bank Negara Malaysia. He is also Chairman of Retirement Fund (Incorporated) (“KWAP”), Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia, Cyberview Sdn. Bhd. and Malaysian Global Innovation & Creativity Centre (“MaGIC”).

Tan Sri Dr. Mohd Irwan holds a PhD in Economics from International Islamic University Malaysia, a Master of Science in Energy Management and Policy from University of Pennsylvania, and a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Population Studies from University of Malaya.
