Seri Negara

Completed in 1913, Seri Negara was the second residence built within the Bukit Carcosa enclave, originally for the use of the British High Commissioner for the Federated Malay States, who also held the office of Governor of the Straits Settlements.

It later became a site for key constitutional milestones that shaped Malaysia’s path to independence.

The building has been restored and repositioned as an immersive heritage gallery, preserving its architectural character while upgrading infrastructure to support public access and use.

Seri Negara now features curated exhibitions on Malaysia’s nationhood, alongside public amenities such as a café and restaurant, allowing visitors to engage with the site in a contemporary setting.
