Dr Nungsari Ahmad Radhi is an economist and currently serves as Chairman of both Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad and Khazanah Research Institute. He was appointed as a Non-Independent Non-Executive Director of Malaysia Airports on 9 May 2024 and subsequently re-designated as Chairman on 13 May 2024. Across his career, he has built extensive experience in economics, public policy, corporate governance, and leadership, spanning government-linked entities, regulatory bodies, academia, and research institutions.
Beyond these roles, Dr Nungsari serves on the board of Bank Negara Malaysia and Koperasi Tunas Muda Sungai Ara Berhad. He is also a Trustee of Yayasan Rahimah binti Yusof and a member of the Advisory Board of Yayasan Peneraju Pendidikan Bumiputera.
Dr Nungsari is a member of the Advisory Committee to the Finance Minister (ACFIN), the Policy Advisory Committee to the Prime Minister (PMAC), and the National Economic Action Council (MTEN). Over the course of his distinguished career, he has been an academic, Member of Parliament, consultant, and corporate executive. He has held senior leadership positions in several companies under the Minister of Finance (Incorporated), including Khazanah Nasional Berhad, Prokhas Sdn Bhd, Pengurusan Danaharta Nasional Berhad, DanaInfra Nasional Berhad, and Syarikat Jaminan Pembiayaan Perniagaan Berhad. He has also served on the boards of numerous statutory and corporate bodies, including the National Productivity Council, Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA), Bank Pertanian Malaysia Berhad, and CIMB Islamic Bank Berhad.
In 2016, Dr Nungsari was appointed Commissioner of the Malaysian Aviation Commission (MAVCOM), before serving as its Executive Chairman from July 2018 to April 2020. His interests centre on the microeconomics of policymaking, and he has been a contributing columnist for The Edge since 2000.
Dr Nungsari holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Mathematics and a Master of Science in Mathematics from Southern Illinois University, as well as a PhD in Economics from Purdue University.
