  • Iskandar Malaysia Touted As The “In Place” To Live A Life Of New Opportunities In Work And All Its Pleasures
  • More than 20 Companies Exhibiting This Weekend
  • Special Talks by Dato’ Sri Idris Jala and Joe Linden

[email protected] Showcase, a two-day lifestyle event aimed at showcasing the various opportunities of living and working in Iskandar Malaysia as well as highlighting Malaysia’s key transformation initiatives, will be launched by Prime Minister Dato’ Sri Mohd Najib bin Tun Haji Abdul Razak at Puteri Harbour, Kota Iskandar, Johor.

The key transformation initiatives include the Government Linked Companies Transformation (“GLCT”) Programme under the auspices of the Putrajaya Committee on GLC High Performance (“PCG”), and the Government Transformation Programme (“GTP”).

Khazanah Nasional Berhad Executive Director (Strategic Human Capital Management) Shahnaz Al-Sadat said, “The event promises to be a real treat for those desiring to make a ‘turning point’ in life by seeking new opportunities in Iskandar Malaysia.”

[email protected] Showcase will open its doors to the general public from 10.00 am – 5.00 pm daily this Saturday and Sunday. Admission is free.

“The Prime Minister will launch the MyWorkLife website, a virtual platform intended to reach out, attract and engage potential talent for the GLCs and the private sector. The website offers information that will help talent, whether Malaysians working abroad and/or foreigners, in their decision-making process on whether to return to or work in Malaysia,” Shahnaz added.

“All relevant information including taxes and education opportunities are made available on the website, and visitors can also post questions, which will be forwarded to the relevant bodies for replies,” she said.

At the event, visitors are encouraged to explore, discover and engage in dialogues with the GTP exhibitor, Performance Management & Delivery Unit (“PEMANDU”), of which its chief executive officer Dato’ Sri Idris Jala will have a dedicated session to discuss and update the audience on the progress of the GTP. Ambassadors from Permodalan Nasional Berhad, Lembaga Tabung Haji, Khazanah Nasional Berhad, Telekom Malaysia Berhad, PROTON Holdings Berhad, Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad, UMW Holdings Berhad, UEM Land Holdings Berhad, Malaysia Building Society Bhd and Chemical Company of Malaysia will also be making a presence at the showcase and are available to provide information to the public.

Another highlight of the [email protected] Showcase is the Iskandar Malaysia exhibition. Iskandar Regional Development Authority (“IRDA”), Iskandar Investment Berhad (“IIB”), Port Tanjung Pelepas, and UEM Land will offer visitors the latest updates on Iskandar Malaysia and the opportunities available to those seeking to work and live in Iskandar.

Over the weekend, Joe Linden, owner of Linden Labs, the company responsible for creating the virtual interactive platform for MyWorkLife talent portal, will speak on how the virtual world has been impacting mainstream education, product development and business. He will take audiences on an introduction and the development on Second Life, and show the roadmap for Second Life for the next 12-18 months.

Also speaking at [email protected] Showcase are an award winning engineer from PROTON as well as IIB professionals who have returned to work in Malaysian companies or in Malaysia.

Adding to the excitement, Lembaga Hasil Dalam Negeri, the Immigration Department, JobsMalaysia and StudyMalaysia will also be on hand to share the merits of living and working in Iskandar Malaysia, including tax breaks, immigration, potential existing jobs and education facilities.

There will also be a MyWorkLife Talent Portal where 10 computers will be available for visitors to sign up to the portal. Those who are unable to attend the two-day event are encouraged to visit the [email protected] website at and participate in the online discourse.
