Khazanah Nasional Berhad (“Khazanah”) today announced new appointments and changes to its Senior Leadership Team (“SLT”), as follows:

  1. Amran Hafiz Affifudin, Director, Investments is promoted to Executive Director, Investments, with effect from 1st April 2018.
  2. Bryan Lim, Director, Investments is promoted to Executive Director, Investments, with effect from 1st April 2018. He continues in his current role as Head of Khazanah’s regional office in Beijing. As announced previously[1], Bryan is also leading Khazanah’s overall North Asia coverage (which comprises China, Japan and Korea), taking over from Datuk Ben Chan, Executive Director, Investments, who is leaving Khazanah at the end of April 2018.
  3. Dato’ Charon Mokhzani, Executive Director, Managing Director’s Office and Managing Director of Khazanah Research Institute (“KRI”), will be leaving Khazanah and KRI in mid-May 2018, after serving for nearly five years.

The new appointments and changes are part of Khazanah’s periodic refresh and strengthening of the senior management team, in line with its ongoing leadership succession initiative. In December 2017, Khazanah announced the appointment of Ahmad Zulqarnain Onn and Tengku Dato’ Sri Azmil Zahruddin Raja Abdul Aziz as Deputy Managing Directors.

Amran Hafiz Affifudin joined Khazanah in June 2011 as Senior Vice President, Investments. He started his career with Petroliam Nasional Berhad (“PETRONAS”) in corporate finance and treasury functions. Amran then entered the private equity industry, where he served in various roles and responsibilities with several firms. Amran holds a B.Sc. in Commerce, majoring in Accounting and Finance from the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia.

Bryan Lim joined Khazanah as Assistant Vice President, Investments in December 2005. Prior to Khazanah, he was with Ernst & Young, Rating Agency Malaysia Bhd (“RAM”) and ECM Libra Securities Sdn Bhd. Bryan holds a Master’s in Business Administration from the MIT Sloan Fellows programme at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a Bachelor of Commerce and Management degree from Lincoln University, New Zealand. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (“CFA”) charterholder.

The new appointments and changes to the SLT supplements Khazanah’s ongoing institutionalisation efforts, which are a key focus for the organisation.
