Khazanah Innovation Impact Challenge (“KIIC”) Terms & Conditions

  1. Khazanah Nasional Berhad is the organiser of KIIC (“Organiser”) whose registered office is at Level 22, Mercu UEM, Jalan Sentral Sentral 5, Kuala Lumpur Sentral, 50470 Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
  2. The Organiser’s partners for KIIC are Malaysian Global Innovation and Creativity Centre (“MaGIC”) and Endeavor.
  3. The competition is open to Malaysian-based business entities except to employees of the Organiser and its partners.
  4. There is no fee chargeable to participate in KIIC.
  5. By submitting the application for KIIC, you will be bound by the terms and conditions contained herein, including but not limited to:
    1. attending clarification calls (weekdays, 9 am – 6 pm) with the Organiser;
    2. participating in sessions held by Organiser to refine proposals in preparation for the Pitch Day upon selection and notification;
    3. adhering to any links contained in these terms and conditions (collectively, the “Terms and Conditions”).
  6. Participant agrees to share with the Organiser all the information required in the application form.
  7. Each applicant may submit more than one (1) entry for KIIC.
  8. The Organiser reserves the right to accept or reject submissions in accordance to KIIC eligibility requirements.
  9. The Organiser reserves the right to modify, suspend or cancel KIIC and/or the validity of this application at any time without any prior notice to any party.
  10. In the event that a participant intends to discontinue its participation in KIIC, participant shall notify the Organiser in writing at least five (5) working days in advance and participant shall immediately cease any and all representation of its participation in KIIC.
  11. Opportunity of an award of the project development grant and a potential follow-on investment by the Organiser for KIIC are not transferable. The Organiser reserves the right to substitute or vary the offer without giving notice or justification. The decision to offer the project development grant and a potential follow-on investment by the Organiser is at the sole discretion of the Organiser.
  12. KIIC applicants who are shortlisted and/or awarded the project development grant will be contacted via email and phone call for further instructions.
  13. The Organiser’s decision in respect of all matters to do with KIIC will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  14. KIIC and these terms and conditions will be governed by Malaysian law and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Malaysia.
  15. Each KIIC participant unconditionally gives consent to the Organiser to publish, use the names, logo, data, videos and/or photographs of the participants, participant’s organisation, including those of the products and/or services of the participant’s organisation, and the participant’s representatives in KIIC publicity materials without any prior notice to the participants and each participant waive any right to claim ownership or other forms of compensation materials from the Organiser, its partners, directors, officers, employees, affiliates, agents, contractors, licensors, related companies and agencies.
  16. By participating in KIIC, each participant agrees to indemnify, defend and hold the Organiser, its partners, directors, officers, employees, affiliates, agents, contractors, licensors, related companies, agencies and sponsors harmless with respect to any claims arising out of the participant’s breach of these Terms and Conditions, the participants participation of KIIC or any action taken by the Organiser as part of its investigation of a suspected violation of these Terms and Conditions or as a result of its finding or decision that a violation of these Terms and Conditions has occurred. The participant warrants and represents that it shall not take action or recover any damages from the Organiser, its partners, directors, officers, employees, affiliates, agents, contractors, licensors, related companies, agencies and sponsors as a result of the Organiser’s decision to remove or refuse to process any information or content, to warn the participant, to suspend or terminate the participant’s access to KIIC, or to take any other action during the investigation of a suspected violation or as a result of the Organiser’s conclusion that a violation of these Terms and Conditions has occurred. This waiver and indemnity provision applies to all violations described in or contemplated by these Terms and Conditions.
  17. The Organiser reserves the right to vary, modify, amend or change these Terms and Conditions at any time without prior notice to any party.
  18. Each KIIC Participant warrants to the Organiser that the participant owns all the intellectual property contain in the application, and the use of the intellectual property by the Organiser for the purpose of KIIC and accordance with the Terms and Conditions will not infringe any third party’s intellectual property rights or other legal rights.
  19. The Organiser retains all proprietary rights to the intellectual property used in KIIC.
  20. The Organiser values your privacy. By submitting this application, each participant agrees to allow the processing of personal data for the purposes and to the extent as stated.
