Redefining the future by investing in the next generation of leaders

At Yayasan Khazanah, we don’t just select scholars with exceptional intelligence, drive and a track record of accomplishments; we look for potential leaders who can redefine the future.

Our hope is to groom the next generation of leaders in business and industry so that they can transform and make substantial contributions to Malaysia’s government-linked companies (GLCs) and other top organisations in Malaysia or around the world.

The journey starts with offering deserving scholars a full scholarship under the Khazanah Scholarship Programme to study at premier universities around the world or in Malaysia. Besides financial support, an integral feature of the Khazanah Scholarship Programme is a broad range of training and developmental activities that scholars will undergo to help prepare them for a successful and accelerated path to leadership.

Discover an exciting, challenging and rewarding future with us.

Yayasan Khazanah is a foundation established by Khazanah Nasional Berhad – the investment holding arm of the Government of Malaysia.

We are entrusted to select, support, groom and nurture exceptional individuals who will eventually take on high-level positions in the best organisations including the Government-Linked Companies (GLCs) in Malaysia.

This mission is in line with Khazanah Nasional’s commitment to the active development of human capital to ensure that Malaysia continues to improve its competitiveness on the global stage.

As a start, we groom talents and help them build their capabilities by offering scholarships to pursue studies at Malaysia’s premier universities or at the world’s renowned institutions of higher learning.

Malaysian citizens may choose to apply from one of the three scholarship programmes below: -

  1. Khazanah Global Scholarship Programme
  2. Khazanah-Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies (OCIS) Merdeka Scholarship Programme
  3. Khazanah Watan Scholarship Programme

We apply a similar commitment to develop leaders amongst citizens of Asian countries through the Khazanah Asia Scholarship Programme.

Ensuring financial support represents merely one part of the equation. An exciting and rewarding journey awaits you through the broad range of development programmes planned for Khazanah’s Scholars.

Ensuring financial support represents merely one part of the journey.

We provide a broad range of opportunities for Khazanah scholars including: -

  1. Leadership and character development programmes
  2. Volunteering opportunities with non-governmental or non-profit-making bodies
  3. Job attachment in companies including GLCs, GLICs (government-linked investment companies) or partner organisations locally or abroad
  4. Internship in selected local or international companies and organisations
  5. Talent exchange programmes among GLCs and GLICs (soon to come multi-national companies in Malaysia and elsewhere)
  6. Mentoring opportunities under corporate decision-makers

Furthermore, on a case by case basis, we provide financial support to deserving scholars to pursue life-enriching experiences such as learning an additional language, taking on short technical courses, attending international conferences or to take a year-out for volunteer work.

Once you graduate, your assignment with Khazanah to serve the scholarship bond is also well thought out and planned with your best interest in mind.

Our scholarship agreement makes conditional provisions for scholars to work, within a limited duration, with other organisations before they return to serve the scholarship bond.

When a company is assigned to you to serve your scholarship bond, we will meet you regularly to determine your further developmental and career needs.

You will also be part of a virtual network throughout your career (in and out of your scholarship bond term) and will automatically be an alumni member. Regular gatherings, updates on progress and sharing of experiences are some of the scholar development programmes we carry out to help you throughout your career.
