Khazanah Nasional has an seven-member Board comprising representatives from the public and private sectors. Dato' Seri Abdullah bin Haji Ahmad Badawi, the Right Honourable Prime Minister of Malaysia, is the Chairman of the Board. The Board of Directors is assisted in the discharge of its duties by an Executive Committee and an Audit Committee established by the Board. The Management team is headed by the Managing Director, Tan Sri Dato' Azman b. Hj Mokhtar.

Dato' Seri Abdullah bin Haji Ahmad Badawi
Dato' Seri Abdullah bin Haji Ahmad Badawi
Dato' Seri Abdullah bin Haji Ahmad Badawi, was appointed as the Chairman of Khazanah Nasional in 9 December 2003.
From 1964 to 1978, Dato' Seri Abdullah was in Government service where he held various key posts, including Director of the Youth Unit in the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports from 1971 to 1973 and as the Deputy Secretary General in the same Ministry in 1974.
In 1978, he left government service to join politics where he has held a number of key cabinet posts prior to his election as Prime Minister, including Minister of Education from 1984 to 1986; Minister of Defence from 1986 to 1987 and Minister of Foreign Affairs from 1991 to January 1999. In January 1999, Dato' Seri Abdullah was appointed as the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Home Affairs, and became the Prime Minister in November 2003.
Dato' Seri Abdullah attended the University of Malaya where he graduated with B.A. (Hons) in Islamic studies

Tan Sri Dato' Nor Mohamed Yakcop
Tan Sri Dato' Nor Mohamed Yakcop, was appointed as Director of Khazanah Nasional on 12 November, 2002. After nearly four years as Special Economic Adviser to the Prime Minister, he was appointed Second Minister of Finance and is a member of the Executive Committee of the National Economic Action Council.
Apart from a short period in the private sector in the late 1990's, Tan Sri Dato' Nor Mohamed Yakcop was with Bank Negara Malaysia from 1968 to 2000. During his service with Bank Negara Malaysia, Tan Sri Dato' Nor Mohamed Yakcop was responsible for the implementation of a number of major projects, including the implementation of Islamic banking in Malaysia, the setting-up of the bilateral payments mechanism between Bank Negara Malaysia and Central Banks of South-South countries and the setting-up of the Rating Agency Malaysia Berhad.
As Special Economic Adviser to the Prime Minister, Tan Sri Dato' Nor Mohamed Yakcop played a major role in a number of corporate restructuring exercises, including United Engineers (Malaysia) Berhad and MAS.
Tan Sri Dato' Nor Mohamed Yakcop graduated from the University of Malaya with a Bachelor of Economics (Honours) degree and also from the Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium with an M.B.A. (cum laude) degree.
Tan Sri Md Nor Yusof
Tan Sri Md Nor Yusof
Tan Sri Md Nor was appointed as Director of Khazanah Nasional in 1 April 2006 and currently serves as the Chairman of its Executive Committee. He also sits on the Boards of several companies and institutions including Malaysian Agrifood Corporation Bhd and Pelaburan Hartanah Bumiputera Berhad.
Tan Sri Md Nor Yusof was appointed to the Board of Bumiputra-Commerce Holdings Berhad as Director on 27 June 2006 and assumed the post of Chairman on 31 July 2006. He is also Chairman of CIMB Group Sdn. Bhd. Tan Sri Md Nor spent 18 years of his working career with the Commerce group, and more notably as President and Chief Executive Officer of Bank of Commerce Berhad (BOC).
Tan Sri Md Nor completed his term as Executive Chairman of the Securities Commission on 31 March 2006. Prior to that appointment, he was the Managing Director of Malaysian Airline System Berhad, after serving a period as Advisor to the Ministry of Finance.
Tan Sri Md Nor graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Commerce from the University of Otago, New Zealand and qualified as a Chartered Accountant.

Dato’ Mohammed Azlan bin Hashim was appointed as Director of Khazanah Nasional in 1 June, 2004. Dato’ Azlan is currently the Chairman of several public listed entities including PROTON Holdings Berhad, D&O Ventures Berhad, Golden Pharos Berhad, PECD Berhad and a director of Scomi Group Bhd.
Dato’ Azlan has extensive working experience in the corporate sectors including financial services and investments. Among others, he has served as Chief Executive, Bumiputra Merchant Bankers Berhad, Group Managing Director, Amanah Capital Malaysia Berhad and Executive Chairman, Bursa Malaysia Berhad (formerly known as Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange) Group.
Dato’ Azlan is a Board Member of various government and non-government related organisations including Labuan Offshore Financial Services Authority, Employees Provident Fund and Malaysian Industry-Government Group for High Technology. He was also appointed Chairman of Universiti Darul Iman Malaysia in 2006.
Dato’ Azlan holds a Bachelor of Economics (Monash) and qualified as a Chartered Accountant (Australia). He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Australia, Malaysian Institute of Accountants, Fellow Member of Malaysian Institute of Directors, Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators and Hon. Member of The Institute of Internal Auditors, Malaysia.

Dato' Mohamed Azman bin Yahya
Dato' Mohamed Azman bin Yahya was appointed as Director of Khazanah Nasional on 1 June 2004. Dato’ Azman is the founder and Group Chief Executive of Symphony House Berhad, an outsourcing services company. He is concurrently the Executive Chairman of Bolton Berhad, a property group. Both companies are listed on Bursa Malaysia.
During the 1997 – 1998 Asian Financial Crisis, Dato’ Azman was appointed by the Government of Malaysia to set-up and head Danaharta, the national asset management company. Subsequently, he also served as Chairman of the Corporate Debt Restructuring Committee, set up by Malaysia’s Central Bank, to mediate and assist in debt restructuring programmes of viable companies until its closure in 2002. During his tenure with Danaharta from 1998 to 2003, he received a number of international accolades including being named one of Asia’s “Most Influential Banker” by Institutional Investor and “Restructuring Agency Chief of the Year” by Asiamoney.
Dato’ Azman sits on the advisory panels of Bursa Malaysia’s Securities Market Consultative Panel, the Malaysian Venture Capital Management Berhad and the National Council for Scientific Research and Development, the National Innovation Council and is a member of the Special Taskforce to facilitate Business (PEMUDAH), a public-private sector partnership to improve the public service delivery system. He is also a director of the Kuala Lumpur Business Club and Chairman of Motorsports Commission of Malaysia.
Dato' Azman started his career in auditing with KPMG in London before returning to Malaysia in 1988 where he built his career in investment banking as chief executive of Amanah Merchant Bank. He graduated with a first class honours degree in Economics from the London School of Economics, and Political Science from University of London. He is also a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, the Malaysian Institute of Accountants and a fellow of the Malaysian Institute of Banks.

Raja Datuk Seri Arshad Raja Tun Uda was appointed as Director of Khazanah Nasional on 1 April, 2006. He was the former Executive Chairman and Senior Partner of PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) Malaysia. Raja Arshad was also Chairman of the Leadership Team of PwC Asia 7 and a member of the PwC Global Leadership Team. He was a member of the PwC Global IFRS Board and a member of the Standards Advisory Council of the International Accounting Standards Board.
Currently Raja Arshad is also a Director of Sime Darby Berhad, a member of the Tax Panel Review and Pro Chanselor of University Industri Selangor. He is also the Chairman of Yayasan Raja Muda Selangor. Over the years, Raja Arshad has had a number of public appointments. Currently he holds the following positions including as a Member of the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission, member of the Tax Review Panel, and as a member of the Capital Market Advisory Council. Raja Arshad is also the Chairman, Yayasan Raja Muda Selangor and an Adjunct Professor at University Utara Malaysia.
Raja Arshad is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and a member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants. Raja Datuk Arshad is also a member of the Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants and served on its Council for 24 years, 3 years as President.

Tan Sri Dato' Azman bin Hj. Mokhtar was appointed as Managing Director of Khazanah Nasional in 1 June, 2004.
Between 1994 and 1998, he was a Director and Head of Research for Union Bank of Switzerland in Malaysia. Between 1998 and 2002, he was Director and Head of Research at Salomon Smith Barney in Malaysia. From 2002 until May 2004, he was the Managing Director of BinaFikir Sdn. Bhd.
Tan Sri Dato' Azman Mokhtar graduated with distinction in M. Phil in Development Studies from Darwin College, Cambridge University, United Kingdom as a Chevening scholar. He is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, United Kingdom and is a Chartered Financial Analyst charter holder. He also holds a graduate diploma in Islamic Studies from the International Islamic University, Kuala Lumpur.
